How to make your hair prosthesis look Natural | TOPPERS

Hi, I'm glad you stopped by. I hope this article is useful to you.

When we use a hair prosthesis, as is my case, since I use a natural hair Topper, one of the concerns we have most when we start using alternative hair is whether it will be noticeable and how to hide it, so that nobody realizes.

In my case, as I have androgenetic alopecia, well, the most important thing is the transition part, so I always try to pull out some of my hair so that it looks much more natural.

Doing this is not easy for me, because pulling out hair to blend it with the hair prosthesis is complicated, since I have little hair in that area and blending it is sometimes hard for me.

So I will try to explain in a simple way what helps me make my hair prosthesis look natural.

WHERE TO PLACE YOUR HAIR PROSTHESIS

This is hard to explain, since it is something that improves as you gain more experience, as you discover how to place it better.

I will include a photo of how I placed it the first time and how all the lack of hair at the front could be seen, where I point with the little red circle.

As I was telling you, with use you learn how to place it better, and you combine it with the next step, and that helps a lot to hide it or to make your hair prosthesis look natural. That step would be..

SHADE OR COLOR OF YOUR HAIR PROSTHESIS

Although it is obvious, choosing the hair shade of your hair prosthesis so that it is as similar as possible to your natural hair, especially paying attention to the color of the roots, is very important.

In the lower part of the hair (the ends) it doesn't matter as much, but in the root area it does, since having to make the transition, or being one of the areas that will blend the most with your prosthesis, this takes on more importance.

Some women dye the root area, the part where the hair grows, and touch it up every so often so that it matches more the color of the hair prosthesis.

Others use hair fibers or colored dry shampoo, to add color to those little hairs that come out in that area I mentioned and at the same time, so that they blend in much better with the color of the alternative hair prosthesis.

HAIR PROSTHESIS AT THE HAIRDRESSER'S

Taking your hair prosthesis to a professional to have it styled is important, above all because of something I saw recently from someone who creates content about hair prostheses.

This person said that when you receive your alternative hair piece, you feel a sense of disappointment because you put it on and it doesn't match your style well.

And it's true, I, who give consultations, see that it is something that happens to many women, that when the prosthesis arrives, it is not what they expected or they feel they can't handle it well.

And that's because, thanks to your prosthesis, having much more hair now, it can become difficult to style it the way one has styled one's hair all one's life, or perhaps many of us, not having had the experience of having had a lot of hair, don't have much of a knack for doing it.

That is why it is very important to take it to a professional, so that they give it the cut or the color one is looking for so that one feels good and feels better with the new hair prosthesis.

STYLING A HAIR PROSTHESIS

The important thing, as I said, is the transition of blending your own hair with the hair of the piece, so if you have a little brush with which you can pull out and blend the two hairs, that of your hair prosthesis and your natural one, use it until they blend.

On the other hand, you can perhaps use a hairdryer to add more volume since there are women for whom it looks incredibly good, pulling out their own hair and with a hairdryer giving it volume to blend the two.

EXTRA LITTLE TRICK

A fairly simple idea is to use this eyebrow makeup, you know, the ones that have several colors. With the little brush that comes with it, one can apply a bit of color on the parts that look whiter, as is my case.

Of course, each woman will have a different difficulty depending on the type of hair loss she has, and perhaps not all the tricks will work.

My biggest difficulty is this one, the transition, and making sure it isn't clearly visible, which is why I try to pull out my own hair, and if I use a hairdryer on it, to gain a little volume, it will end up much more lifted and much prettier and it will have a much more natural effect.

FEELINGS WITH HAIR PROSTHESES

I wanted, as we reach the end of this article, to tell you something about our feelings.

That feeling that others are noticing that you wear a hair prosthesis is, on many occasions, more our own thing than reality, and honestly, as I already mentioned in some of my YouTube videos, something was happening to me that I didn't realize and that I have now noticed.

Before, when I didn't use a hair prosthesis, people looked at me much more than now that I use it, since before, my alopecia problem was very evident, since for example, when I made a center parting, it was quite exaggerated.

I know that in the case of some women, they can put the natural hair topper a little further back on the head area and that makes everything much easier when it comes to blending it.

So, well, that's it, those are some simple ideas to be able to blend your hair prosthesis with your natural hair and make a hair prosthesis look natural and not be so noticeable.

Hoping that some of these little tips have helped you, I say goodbye.

Bye
