Hair Prostheses Comparison. Volumizer vs Natural Hair Topper
Hi, how are you?
Today I want to compare a couple of hair prostheses in case it helps you when deciding which hair prosthesis to choose.
One is the topper I normally wear and I will compare it with the volumizer I got recently, so we can look at different aspects, see the differences and in that way see what conclusions we reach.
So let's get started...

WEIGHT OF HAIR PROSTHESES
Using a small scale I'm going to weigh the two hair prostheses and see the difference.
When I weighed them, my Topper weighs 153 grams, taking off the 3 grams of the little elastic band I use to tie the hair.
I think when it arrived it was 155 grams and now it has lost two grams because I cut it a little, so that's it. 153 grams for the natural hair Topper.

I do the same with the natural hair volumizer too and when I place it on the scale, I see that it reads about 68 - 3 grams for the elastic band = 65 grams of hair.
The hair volumizer, when it arrived, also weighed about 72 grams, but I had to cut it, so it has lost a few grams.

So when we talk about the weight of hair prostheses, the natural hair Topper weighs approximately double a volumizer.
Shall we move on to the next point? Let's go now with...
THE APPEARANCE OF HAIR PROSTHESES:
Starting with the natural hair Topper, this hair prosthesis looks like a full head of hair.
The hair is quite even and it also looks like a scalp in a rather realistic way, even though I haven't got the parting very well done. But it looks real, because the underside has this little fabric here and that makes it look very, very natural

The topper also has clips around the edge so it doesn't bother you on the most sensitive part of the scalp.
In the case of the Volumizer, it has only one part, which as I show you next, you will surely see is quite a bit more translucent, that is, your own scalp can be seen.

This makes it more breathable than the other hair prosthesis, but it also looks a little less natural, it seems to me, because when I tried to put it on, I could see a plastic piece, which I didn't like at all.
In my case, as I don't have enough hair to cover the bangs, that is what happened to me, since you could see that little white plastic and it looked less natural.
On the other hand, the Volumizer is supposed to be 35 centimeters long, but 35 reaches the very last tip and that makes very little hair visible at the end, although the top part does have quite a lot.
Let's move on to the next point, which is one of the biggest concerns, the price.
PRICE OF HAIR PROSTHESES
I start by talking about the price of a natural hair Topper, like mine, which, with a weight of 150 grams of hair, is around 500 to 600 euros or dollars.
Adding one more comparison so that you get an idea, 150 grams of hair in tape extensions, can cost around 400 euros or dollars, but the natural hair Topper has additional construction.
It has the clips, plus "The Cap" which, when placed on your hair, keeps it from coming off, so I think it is a reasonable price for this amount of hair.

In the case of the hair volumizer, on some websites, they are sold for 325 euros or dollars, plus shipping which can bring it up to about 400 euros or dollars, not counting taxes, which is something to keep in mind since sometimes, when it enters the country they can charge you taxes for
Considering that this type of hair prostheses have very little hair, something like half of the other hair prosthesis, which is the Topper, it seems to me that it isn't very worthwhile for the price
This usually happens because you have to keep in mind that the work of making a hair volumizer costs more because of the labor. Placing the hairs, it doesn't matter whether it's a lot or a little, is labor that has to be paid for, so if the piece has little hair, perhaps it isn't as profitable and this work isn't recouped, compared to one that has more hair.
Let's move on to the last point...
COMFORT of HAIR PROSTHESES
Well, this point is a little subjective because it depends on each person.
Speaking of the natural hair Topper, and speaking from my own experience, since it covers all of your hair, I find it more comfortable, because I feel that I don't have to be careful about hiding things, as it is almost like a wig.

In the case of the hair volumizer, it has the advantage that it is very light, since wearing 150 grams of hair on top of your head, when you are not used to it, can be easier.
The Hair topper, especially at the beginning, was a bit complicated and when it is summer you have to keep in mind that it is also hotter, but since I had to wear a hat anyway, I have always worn something on top of my head, so I don't really notice much difference either.
So it is clear that the volumizer is a lighter hair prosthesis and also more breathable, as I said before.
FINAL CONCLUSIONS
Speaking of results for me, the topper completely covers my lack of hair, so for me it is clear that it is what I need

In the case of the volumizer, since I have bangs, it is quite a bit more comfortable as I don't have to worry about the parting, but at the same time, I notice that it bulges in certain areas and I'm always trying to pull on the sides with this one I have.
Some disadvantages of this hair prosthesis are that, in my case, since it doesn't cover all my hair but blends with my natural hair, I have to have clean hair and also, more or less, I must have it cut at the same height as the volumizer.
On the other hand, the volumizer is made for women who perhaps have very little hair loss in the top area of the head, want to cover it and also have their own hair volume.
In my case, since I don't have that much volume, the volumizer looks a little strange on me.
There are different options of toppers, different dimensions and different female alopecia problems, so perhaps a volumizer may be what you need or even, the volumizer may be a good transition before moving on to wearing a natural hair topper but a wig because it is something
I am, I think, one of the clumsiest women there are at styling my hair and yet I manage to make sure nobody notices that I wear a topper, but if I have managed to do it, I think any other woman can do it. There isn't much difficulty, you simply have to find the way and your own way of wearing it and that's it.
